One of the things we pride ourselves on, here at FatKidOnFire, is our ear for talent. Over the last 6+ years, as we’ve watched the global dubstep community evolve and progress, we like to think we’ve played our part in highlighting some of the real talent we find within the 140bpm sound.
Causa is one of the hugely talented producers we’ve championed. We were the first label to sign the young producer, and we’re delighted to see he’s going on to bigger and better things with his next few releases. The first to drop appears on J:Kenzo’s Artikal Music – and it’s ridiculous…
As to be expected with the imprint’s stellar discography, Causa’s contribution is of the utmost quality. The producer is definitely not hanging about with his debut on Artikal. ARTKL022 will do much for Marian’s standing within the dubstep community; while continuing the work J:Kenzo and the team have done with previous releases. As matches between producer and label go, we can’t think of a better one (ok, maybe the likes of Kaiju and DEEP MEDi would be along similar lines).
Causa’s Artikal debut drops in just under a month. Today, we’re delighted to premiere the B-side and FKOF favourite Medication. It’s everything we’ve come to expect from the producer, acknowledging the roots of the dubstep sound while bringing a 2016 feel to it. Watch for that rolling bassline, delayed percussive hits and suffocating atmospheres. A-side, Undubbed, doesn’t do what it says on the tin. It’s very much Dubbed, with its marauding stepper vibe that stamps about before the arrival of the guttural synths around 90s in.
The latest release from Artikal pitches two rather different tunes against each other, creating a release packed with certified gunfinger riddims. Both tunes on ARTKL022 will smash the dance – and that’s before we even look at the addictively raucas Stages and Donknow on the digital release…
Causa’s EP drops 10/06/16
