Out and About this week…

Out and About this week…

There are rarely times where I have events I want to reach every night of the week – but this week seems to be one of them. It’s going to be a bit of a madness with these three lined up over the next three days, but I’ll be doing my best to be in attendance flying the FatKidOnFire flag (or t-shirt) at each one…

Uprise Audio x Artikal Music

Uprise Audio x Artikal Music UK

Tomorrow sees two of the UK’s finest young dubstep labels take over Shoreditch’s East Village. Seven‘s Uprise Audio and J:Kenzo’s Artikal Music have teamed up to bring 6 hours of cutting edge dubplate pressure to the Capital city. The event features the two label bosses, Mosaix, Wayfarer, Sleeper, Taiko and Quantum Soul – alongside a stellar line up of hosts in the form of Toast MC, LX One and Joe Raygun.

Tickets are a measly £3 before 11pm and go up to just £4 after – and, if you get there early enough, you’ll be in with a chance of winning a tonne of WeSC clothing along with copies of UA003 and ARTKL007.

I’ll be heading down after work with Kanjira, Konvex and a few others, so come down and enjoy what promises to be a pretty huge event.

Scott Move‘s ‘Absence of Light’

Scott Move's 'Absence of Light'

Scott was one of (if not the first) the first artists to feature on FKOF, back in April 2010 when the site was a few weeks old. Since then, I’ve watched the artist grow from strength to strength and move into tattooing.

I’ve followed him from his first stint at Haunted to the truly brilliant The Circle in Soho (where he’s now based) – and it’s at The Circle where he’s debuting his first exhibition (he’s exhibited before but as far as I’m aware this is the first he’s put on himself). With original artwork from some of the best artists and tattoo artists in the world, ‘Absence of Light’ is not to be missed…

Doors: 7pm
Exhibition run time: one month

[Edit – I thought Scott’s exhibition was this week; turns out it starts next week. My bad!]
